Know-It-Alls 2.0 – The man who always has an opinion

There was a time when the know-it-all guy ruled the Sunday roast table.

Pint in hand, polo tucked in, and endless wisdom about football, the economy, and why “back in my day” everything was better.

He was Google before Google — or ChatGPT with no data plan. Loud, opinionated, charmingly unbearable.

And while we laugh at him now, maybe we’ve all still got a little bit of that inside us.

FROM PUB PHILOSOPHER TO FEED EXPERT

The internet has upgraded the classic know-it-all.

He no longer needs a family lunch to drop his wisdom — just a Story, a filter, or a viral thread.

He lifts at the “temple” (CrossFit), grooms his beard, reviews burgers, quotes stoic philosophers, and calls it wellness.

He doesn’t just have opinions; he curates them.

But here’s the twist: the new know-it-all doesn’t want to stand out — he wants to fit in just right.

Enter the NPC era: where we all act like main characters but secretly play the same script.

FROM MAIN CHARACTER ENERGY TO NPC AWARENESS

We mock the “basics”, the “normies”, the ones who do what everyone else does — while doing the exact same thing ourselves.

We laugh at influencers from our iPhones, book the same trendy summer spots, and post “original” reels with the same audio as everyone else.

AND MAYBE THAT’S FINE

Because being a know-it-all 2.0 isn’t about having all the answers anymore — it’s about knowing you don’t.

It’s about embracing the absurd, the routine, and the serum.

Accepting that life makes zero sense, but your skin can still look flawless.

So yes, maybe we’re all a bit of a know-it-all NPC: self-aware, moisturised, and slightly ironic.

The trick isn’t to stop being one — it’s to choose which one:

The guy who complains about everything, or the one who laughs at everything (especially himself).

And if the road to enlightenment includes a Nando’s, a reel with a Dua Lipa song, and a night serum… then cheers to that.
